Leaderboard feature allows you to show everyone's results. When you take a quiz or test, it’s always fun to compare your results with others. This way you can see how well you’ve really done.
A leaderboard is a screen that you can choose to display at the beginning or end of the quiz or test showing everyone's scores. This feature can also be useful for companies so colleagues can compare test results and see where they stand in the company or team. It's also an easy way to see who has already taken the test and who has yet to do it.
This help guide will teach you:
1. Activate Leaderboard
Make sure that you have toggled the button to turn your questions into quiz questions. Then you'll have the option of marking the correct answer, and everyone's quiz scores can be displayed on the board.
To activate it, click the Extra options tab. Scroll down to Quiz options and click Leaderboard.
Now you can toggle to show a standard leaderboard, or if you're on the Enterprise plan or above, you'll have the option to activate custom one.
You can only activate one board at a time. Make sure to deactivate the button for the other one first.
2. Standard Leaderboard
Once you activate it, you can select if you want it shown at the start or end of the survey.
The name that will appear on the board is the response to the first intro field question. You'll find the intro screen options in the question editor, before the first question. Click add a field, then choose Text-Single Line and type your text to label the field.
This is how the intro field will be displayed on the intro screen:
3. Custom Leaderboard
This feature allows you to decide which question responses or other variables you want to display and limit the number of responses shown. This feature is only available if you're on the Enterprise plan or above.
This is an example that is displayed at the start of the questionnaire. You can add as many columns as you want and you decide where the data should be taken from - data does not have to be taken from intro fields like the standard one, but you can use responses to any question or formula result.
Once you activate it, you'll be shown a few options so you can customize it.
Decide if you want it to be displayed at the start or end of your questionnaire. Now you can decide the limit of the number of previous responses to display. Don't set your limit too high otherwise your board will be very long!
You can build it by adding columns, each one corresponding to a variable of your choice, which could be question responses, formula results, or other variables. Click add column to add as many columns as you require.
- Column name - name each of your columns in this text box. The column name will be displayed to respondents at the top of the column.
- Click on the arrow to access the variables drop-down menu. This will be the value that's presented on the screen.
- Sort- either by sorting low to high, high to low or no sorting at all. Note that these are the only numeric fields that allow sorting: |total_quiz_score|, |total_custom_score|, |duration|. This option will not be visible if you have any other value selected.
What's next?
- Use a quiz timer to discourage respondents from searching on the internet for the right answers as they'll be out of time. Or simply use it to build up the suspense! You can select how many time the respondents have to complete your survey and what will happen when their time is up.
View question results feature allows you to show to your respondents how many people answered the same way or differently. It can be interesting for respondents to see how other people answered the same question and compare their results.
Survey Widgets are different formats of content that you can include in your survey. This allows you to display data, for example, in graphs or tables, based on the respondent's answer. If you include variables in your data fields, your charts will display customized data from the responses. You could choose to show an answer given to a question, the score from a question or question block, or many other variables.
