Kiosk mode allows you to leave your questionnaire un-managed. You can put your questionnaire on kiosk mode by using the features like automatic back to start and idle timeout.
When you don't have the time or staff to man your survey devices such as a tablet, you can just leave the tablet in kiosk mode in the store, at the stand, or anywhere else. Given that the questionnaire can automatically return to the Intro Screen, no staff is required.
This guide will teach you:
1. Automatic Back to start
When a respondent takes the questionnaire on your device in kiosk mode he/she will feel no need to reload the questionnaire after completing it. Auto Redirect can make the questionnaire reload by itself so that the questionnaire is always ready to be taken.
You'll find this feature in the Questions tab when you scroll down to Final screen. Toggle to activate auto redirect after 10 sec. Now the questionnaire will auto-redirect to the first screen after 10 seconds on the Final Screen.
2. Geolocation
When it's important for you to know where the respondents take the questionnaire, you can turn on Geolocation. When the location on the device is turned on at the moment someone takes the questionnaire, you will receive the location in your results and in your confirmation mail.
For example when you use one survey in three different stores to measure overall happiness, you can know from which store a specific (negative) response came by looking at the Geolocation.
You can find Geolocation in the Extra Options tab when you scroll down to the bottom section Other options. Turn it on here.
This is how the location shows in your results:

3. Idle Timeout
When you put your questionnaire on an unmanned iPad in a store, and someone quits in the middle of the survey, you don't want to leave the questionnaire on that page.
The Idle timeout times the period of inactivity and returns the questionnaire to the Intro Screen after a number of seconds you specify. You can choose whether or not you want to keep the data of an incomplete questionnaire by toggling the button to save data before the questionnaire restarts.
4. Save per question
This feature is included in the Professional and Enterprise plans only.
You'll find these options in the Extra Options tab in the bottom section of Other options. Activate save per question to make sure the answers to the questionnaire are saved in case a respondent closes their browser. In other cases, the answers will only be saved when the respondents click Complete.
What's next?
- The email templates feature allows you to send emails to your respondents based on their selected answers or a quiz/survey score. This is a great way to keep your respondents engaged! Email templates are so useful because each email can be customized according to each respondent's answers or score using editor variables.
- Outcomes is a feature that allows you to select what you will show to your respondents as a final screen, based on their answers to all inquiries or show a screen based on criteria that you have specified, such as a specific quiz score. This feature offers the possibility to create personality quizzes and business tests that end with personalized advice
- The Custom Scoring feature allows you to give a score for each answer so that an overall score will be calculated at the end of the survey. It's useful for example to rate customer or employee satisfaction.
