ReCaptcha is a service from Google that helps protect websites from spam and abuse. A “CAPTCHA” is a turing test to tell human and bots apart. In other words, it is used to prevent automated scripts and bots from abusing an application.
ReCaptcha is an extra feature with additional fee. Please contact sales@pointerpro.com for more information.
What Is the Turing Test? The Turing Test is a deceptively simple method of determining whether a machine can demonstrate human intelligence: If a machine can engage in a conversation with a human without being detected as a machine, it has demonstrated human intelligence.
ReCaptcha uses an advanced risk analysis engine and adaptive challenges to keep malicious software from engaging in abusive activities on your website. Meanwhile, legitimate users will be able to login, make purchases, view pages, or create accounts, and fake users will be blocked.
This guide will teach you:
1. How to activate ReCaptcha
You can find ReCaptcha if you scroll down in the Extra options tab. Then all you need to do is click on the toggle button to enable it.
Upon opening the survey, you'll notice the ReCaptcha icon positioned on the right-hand side of the page.
When you hover over it, the display expands to reveal the message "Secured by ReCaptcha."
2. ReCaptcha and white labeled editor
Unfortunately, Recaptcha can't be used in combination with White label, because you will be using your domain instead of Pointerpro's. If you activate both features, an error message is shown: "ERROR for site owner: Invalid domain for site key".
What's next?
- Save contact details- If you're asking respondents for their personal information, use our save respondent details feature to build the contact list automatically.
- Geolocation - When you need to know where the respondents take the survey, you can turn on Geolocation. When the location on the device is turned on, you will receive the location in your results and in your Notification Email.
- Question logic is a highly effective way to improve the flow of your questionnaire and tailor it to make it relevant to respondents. It allows you to specify which question to go to or go to the end of the questionnaire, based on the answer to a preceding question, quiz score, or contact data. Alternatively, you can decide to show or hide certain questions based on the criteria you set.
