Add a Table of Contents to help your respondents navigate through your questionnaire easily. This feature automatically generates a list of all your questions and question groups, allowing users to jump directly to specific sections and return to the Table of Contents page.

A Table of Contents is an automatically generated navigation page that displays all questions and question blocks in your questionnaire. Respondents can click on any item to jump directly to that section, making it easier to navigate longer surveys.
This guide will teach you:
- How to activate the Table of Contents
- How to customize the Table of Contents text
- How the Table of Contents displays your content
1. How to activate the Table of Contents
- In the questionnaire editor, navigate to the beginning of your questionnaire
- Find the Table of Content option in your survey components
- Toggle the Active switch to enable it
- The Table of Contents will automatically appear after your intro screen and before your first question
Once activated, the Table of Contents will be inserted as a separate page inside your questionnaire (between the intro page and the questions).
2. How to customize the Table of Contents text
You can add custom text that will appear above the automatically generated table:
- After activating the Table of Contents, you'll see a text editor box
- Click in the text area to add your custom message
- Use the rich text formatting options to style your text
Your custom text will appear above the auto-generated question list.
3. How the Table of Contents displays your content
The Table of Contents automatically organizes your survey content in two ways:
With Question Groups (Categories)
When you use question groups in your survey:
- Each question block appears as a category heading
- Questions within each block are listed underneath
- The structure looks like (without any text in the Table of Contents box!):
Without Question Blocks
When you don't use question blocks:
- All questions are listed sequentially
- Each question appears as a numbered item:
Navigation Features
- Clickable items: Respondents can click any question to jump directly to it
- Return navigation: After viewing a question, respondents can use the double arrow (>>) button to return to the Table of Contents view

Use clear, descriptive question block names as they become your category titles. Keep custom text brief and helpful, and consider using the Table of Contents for longer surveys. Don't forget to test the navigation flow to ensure smooth user experience.
