The Formula Ranking widget allows you to display the results of selected formulas ranked from lowest score to highest score or highest to lowest.
The results that you choose to show will be displayed together with explanatory text immediately underneath.
This guide will teach you:
1. Setting up the widget
1.1 Add KPIs
1.3 Widget placement
1.1 Add KPIs
First you have to add your widget, by clicking the + sign next to it.
Then you can name the widget, and start by adding the formulas which you want to display. Click Add KPI to add the first one, then choose your formula from the drop-down menu. The description is the text which will be displayed under the result. Click Add KPI to add as many as you wish.
You can add images and text formatting in the description.
1.2 Adjust widget settings
You can adjust the other settings for this widget:
- Widget name - name your widget for ease of reference
- Show formula titles - Show or hide the title of each formula in the ranking
- Show formula results - Show or hide the result in the ranking
- Sorting - Choose whether you want to sort the results from low to high, high to low, or with no sorting.
- Limit - You can set the limit of how many formulas to show. You can add as many as you like, and then choose to limit by, for example, the top 3. If you've added 10, only the results of the top 3 will be shown in the PDF report.
Formulas are variables that allow you to calculate score, averages, and any advanced calculations that you wish to, later on, use in your survey, final page, email template, or even PDF Report. This feature is built upon piping variables.
1.3 Widget placement
To make advanced design changes to the bar chart, use custom CSS.
- Left - widget will be aligned to the left side of the page, in a column layout
- Center - widget will be presented centered across the entire page from the left to the right (full width)
- Right - widget will be aligned to the right side of the page, in a column layout
If you would like your widget to appear side-by-side with another one, make sure to set one aligned on one side of the page, and the other widget on the other side. For example, choose to align the text widget to the left, and align a ranking widget to the right.
Click the Update preview button to see how the widget you've created looks like

2. Widget logic rules
If you want to only show this widget under certain conditions, you can set the widget logic rules. If you want to show a general widget that is visualized every time a PDF report is generated, you can choose not to include a widget logic rule. Learn more about Widget Logic.
Once you've saved your logic rules, don't forget to save PDF and you're ready to add more widgets!
What's next?
- Conditional Rendering is a way of displaying elements based on a condition. It allows you to create simple conditions inside a widget and reduce the number of widgets and rules. With Conditional Rendering, you can render different UI markups based on certain conditions.
- Add the Formula KPI widget to display the results of formulas that you have set up. You can use this widget to have a quick visual representation the respondent results. KPI stands for key performance indicator, a quantifiable measure of performance over time for a specific objective.
Add a Table to your PDF report to display results clearly and concisely to your respondents. Tables are an easy and fast way of showing any data in rows and columns. Rather than writing your data in text, you can make it more understandable and easy to read with a Table.
