Here's an example of an XY chart:
This guide will teach you:
1. Setting up the widget
1.1 Configure the data
Start by setting up your Dimensions, which refer to the points that will show on your XY Chart.
- Give a name to your chart component and choose its color by clicking on the pen. Take care to choose distinctly different colors for each point, so it will be easy to tell the difference between them!
- Click Add metric to add variables to your dimensions. You can choose variables from the dropdown to set the x-Axis and y-Axis values of each point.
- Toggle the Plot group of responses button to enable filters to plot multiple points
You can click Add Dimensions and add as many points as you wish.
If you change your variable data, you must collect a new response in order to preview your chart.
1.2 Set chart properties
- Widget name - Name your XY chart widget for your own use
- Chart title - Name your XY chart to be visible on top of your chart
- Show Legend - Toggle the Show Legend button if you want to display the different score names associated with your data matrix
- Y-axis title - Add a title to your Y-axis
- X-axis tile - Add a title to your X - axis
1.3 Widget placement and size
Choose how you would like to align your XY chart widget. You can choose to align it to one side and have explanatory text or another widget on the other side or center it.
- Left - widget will be aligned to the left side of the page, in a column layout
- Center - widget will be presented centered across the entire page from the left to the right (full width)
- Right - widget will be aligned to the right side of the page, in a column layout
Use the arrows or enter a value for the chart height and width. If you choose to place the XY chart on either the left or the right side of the page, the chart will be automatically resized.
The max-width of one page is 810 px. To leave some room for spacing the recommended Width value is around 600 px.
2. Widget logic rules
If you want to only show this widget under certain conditions, it's time to set the widget logic rules.
You can create logic rules so that widgets are only displayed when certain criteria are met. If you want to show a general widget that is visualized every time a PDF report is generated, you can choose not to include a widget logic rule. Learn more about Widget Logic.
Once you've saved your logic rules, don't forget to save PDF and you're ready to add more widgets!
What's next?
- Use the bubble chartwidget to show your respondents their results from different questions and compare them to other components. A bubble chart stands out because it allows for a comparison between three variables.
- Add a gauge chart to the personalized PDF report to represent average or actual scores or percentage results for question blocks or formulas. Respondents can see at a glance if they've scored towards the top-end or bottom-end of the scale.
- Add a Bar Chart widget to your customized report to show respondent's results or another data set at a glance. A Bar Chart displays your data with rectangular bars and you can show data separated into categories with relative numbers.
